Based in Indianapolis, Chris Bucher works as a commercial photographer with a diverse range of clients. His days might be spent on a boom lift shooting an industrial complex or in a high-tech office creating lifestyle portraits of the people who move that company. Many of his current projects come from architecture and construction clients, but the consumer electronics, healthcare, and life sciences industries all keep him equally busy. His expertise lies in working with people to create a visual representation of their business philosophy. Translating a client’s mission and vision into a photograph provides Chris the ultimate fulfillment.
His work has been seen in the Communication Arts Photo Annual, as well as featured in many periodicals and websites. He is four-time gold medal winner in Photography at the National Art Museum of Sport, and many of his images have been instrumental for clients winning local and regional Addy awards.
Chris is the author of Lighting Photo Workshop and Black and White Digital Photography, and technical editor for several educational photography guides.
He lives in downtown Indy with his wife, Jennifer, and their Belgian Shepherd, George.

Offering digital photographers a complete course in photographic lighting techniques, Lighting Photo Workshop covers everything from using flash systems and studio lights to working outdoors in bright or low-light conditions. Black and White Digital Photography
Shooting pictures in black and white presents unique challenges for beginners and experienced digital photographers alike. A strong understanding of photography’s fundamentals is crucial to capturing great black and white images, and factors such as contrast and lighting are much more integral to black and white photography than to color. Black and White Digital Photography Photo Workshop teaches digital photographers the skills they need to master black and white photography.
